Before we get started with our subject today, we want to take a moment to remind you about our past blogs. There is a range of blogs here – from highly practical to more entertaining. Check them out.
Back to the regularly scheduled blog. So recently I was traveling in Central Oregon – just west of Sisters. I’m pretty high-tech here, so I used the “Seek” option on my AM/FM multi-disc player. It landed on country music. By some providence, one of the songs was “Don’t Fence Me In”. I had heard this classic before – but not when I was puzzling over what the next blog should be about. Good timing!
I hopped onto the World Wide Web. I wanted to know if fences and music had found each other. Turns out, the answer is yes, big yes. As in real life, fences can be found everywhere in music, in practically every genre. And there are actual rankings for which song with “fence” in the title is most popular.
I am happy to report that the classic “Don’t Fence Me In” still holds the top spot on the date of this publication and that 78% of people who pay attention to this matter agree with this ranking. (ranker.com) Bing Crosby is one of many artists who sang this song. In this version, he joins with the Andrews Sister. An old fave of mine, and a pure classic.
“Picket Fence” by Brother Ali is ranked second. While I am wholly unfamiliar with this tune, it appears as though it is popular. Among the 19 people who weighed in, 63% agreed that this tune deserves this ranking. The aptly-named “Fences’, recorded by the rock band Paramour, ranked third. Sixty percent of people agreed with this. Solid number.
You probably are reading this because you are interested in getting a new fence. By doing so, you join countless others who have become before you, and who will come after you, that go through the process of choosing a new fence.
Like those musicians, who so thoughtfully included fences in their music, you will make your fencing choice carefully. We hope, frankly, that you choose DuraBond’s Steel Privacy Fencing. We do want to sell you our fencing, but more than that, we want you to enjoy the beauty and value our many other customers already enjoy.
But in the meantime, put on some music. We suggest you check out songs with fences in them – they are good, and they are plentiful.
