A Sad Story about a Wood Fence

Advanced Coating Technology Steel Fencing

My wood fence is two years old. It is gray now, and some of the corners at the bottom and the dog ears at the top are warping. Screws are “crying” stains on the face of the boards.

Sad…so I went research deep, and my friend Google told me wood fence owners refurbish every 2-3 years. I’m at two years, as I said, and can’t imagine waiting another year. Just too ratty looking.

My fence is 90 lineal feet, and I have discovered that the average local cost to hire the refinishing is 5-10 dollars a linear foot. OUCH! I did not put that in my retirement business plan. So it’s going to cost me minimum around 500 bucks to have this done for me – maybe even a full grand. In the next 10 years, it’s going to ding me somewhere between 5,000 to 10,000 bucks total. Plus…ratty.

Every owner of a wood fence recognizes this sad story. It is inevitable – decay happens. Wood dries, shrinks, cracks, warps and rots. Vinyl fades, grows brittle, breaks, and gets moldy. But steel with Advanced Coating Technology…steel is different.

DuraBond’s Steel Privacy Fencing was researched and developed in Australia, where it is wildly popular. Of course, it’s tough – time tested tough. And it’s private – there aren’t any holes, and no, termites won’t eat it. But maybe best about this fencing? Dependability. This stuff will be there over the long haul…it’s guaranteed for 10 years and will last longer for criminy sakes! How can they do that?

Good question. It starts at the core, then works outward, to what we call the Advanced Coating Technology (ACT). Not to get too nerdy here, but “they”, the Australian steel maker BlueScope Steel calls it “Activate Technology”. They developed it. See the image on the left. They drew it.
BlueScope starts with steel and treats it in an advanced process – what we might call galvanizing on our side of the planet, but they are really good at it and have their own special sauce for the process.

That is just the beginning…it isn’t truly ACT until it a pretreatment is applied, which makes the surface very sticky and enables the primer to hold hard and fast. Then comes the topcoat. This is special, as the topcoat provides the color, and lasts and lasts of course. And this advanced coating is also capable of keeping the fence from getting too hot or too cold! Voila – not hot! We do not want the little kiddos burning their hands.

Long story short, DuraBond Steel Privacy Fencing looks good, year after year. Plus, you will save a bundle, especially in the long haul. Your Fence Story doesn’t have to be sad. We are ready to help you change your story. So get smart and happy! Get peace of mind for years to come. Give us a call.
